About Karl
My interest in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) started in 1980 when I began my taiji study in San Francisco. After graduation from Five Branches Institute, a TCM
school in CA, I traveled regularly to China to study with senior doctors in busy TCM hospitals. In China, the senior doctors practiced on a level where the medicine was as much an art as it was a science. I got to see the "possibilities" of the medicine and that inspired me to study more deeply.
I specialize in treating patients with gastrointestinal, gynecological, and musculoskeletal conditions. I do treat patients with other conditions.
I regularly take acupuncture & herbal seminars to improve my skills and I integrate what I learn into my clinical practice.
I strive to be consistent with my daily exercise practice so that I'll have the energy and health to give my patients effective treatments.
My favorite Beijing doctor, Chen Tongyun, said "treat each patient as if he or she was part of your family." I strive to give each of my patients the best possible care.
